Unitek Technical Services provides supplier management, development, and related technical services to corporations around the world. Position Summary

The Aerospace Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections using visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspection methods to ensure products meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Perform manual inspections using hand tools and coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspections to verify product conformance.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, pin gauges, gauge blocks, comparators, vision inspection systems, and CMM equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
  • Conduct visual inspections under magnification or microscope to identify surface imperfections, burrs, and other defects.
  • Collaborate with CNC machine operators and production personnel to ensure products meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Assist department supervisors with quality-related problem identification, corrective actions, loss reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of quality plans, inspection procedures, test methods, documentation, and inspection records.
  • Provide guidance and training to operators regarding inspection techniques, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance of inspection equipment and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection or a related manufacturing environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, tolerancing, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards; internal auditing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong computer and systems skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to complete required training and certifications as needed.
