Role Description The Upper School Math Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Memphis, TN, responsible for teaching math courses to upper school students in alignment with school standards and the mission of St. Agnes Academy–St. Dominic School. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student learning through assignments and exams, and providing timely, constructive feedback. The teacher will differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, maintain accurate records of student progress, and communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues. Additional duties include collaborating with department colleagues on curriculum initiatives, participating in professional development, attending school events and meetings, and contributing to the spiritual and community life of the school in age-appropriate and mission-consistent ways.

Qualifications

  • Strong content knowledge in Mathematics and Mathematics Education, with the ability to teach a range of upper school math courses.
  • Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development to design coherent, standards-based units and assessments.
  • Experience as a Qualified Teacher, including effective classroom management and the ability to support varied learning styles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field; advanced degree and relevant teaching licensure are preferred.
  • Ability to integrate technology into instruction and assessment to enhance student learning.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with a commitment to working in a faith-based, mission-driven school community.
  • Previous experience teaching upper school students and familiarity with Catholic or independent school environments is beneficial.
