Duties

• Safely operate a box truck, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies.
• Load and unload cargo using proper manual handling techniques, including the use of forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary.
• Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
• Assist with heavy lifting and moving items, applying safe lifting practices to prevent injuries.
• Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries and pickups.
• Verify shipment accuracy, inspect loads for safety, and document delivery details accurately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or warehouse associate with a focus on route driving.
• Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations, manual handling equipment like pallet jacks, and forklift operation is a plus.
• Ability to operate an automatic transmission box truck confidently and efficiently.
• Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is highly desirable.
• Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and safety standards.
