Job Summary: As an Accounting Staff member, you will play a key role in executing various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to our company policies. You will support the Controller by managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting: Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments during monthly closings. Maintain the accuracy of general ledgers for assigned entities.
- Month End and Year End Closing: Conduct reconciliations for bank accounts and balance sheet accounts while collaborating with the Controller to ensure timely closings.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Support: Process vendor invoices, manage payment processing, and support accounts receivable functions.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Organize and maintain comprehensive records in the accounting system, ensuring all documentation is filed correctly.
- Audit & Compliance: Provide necessary documentation for audits and ensure all activities comply with GAAP and internal controls.
- Process Improvements: Identify and propose opportunities to maximize the efficiency of accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field.
- Two to four years of general accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or real estate context.
- Knowledge of GAAP and basic internal control principles.
- Experience with journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using accounting systems (preferably Rent Manager).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and growth within a structured team environment.
Compensation: $70,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) plan, medical stipend, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and more.
