Job Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Receptionist (interchangeable), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. You will be the first point of contact for patients, assisting with intake, vital signs, and medical documentation, while also supporting providers with procedures and clinical tasks. Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and appointment scheduling using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Collect patient histories, measure vital signs, and document clinical notes accurately
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, including basic medication administration and X-ray support when applicable
- Support clinical staff with tasks such as ICD coding, anatomy and physiology documentation, and medication reconciliation
- Assist providers during procedures in various specialties like dermatology, urgent care, or hospital medicine settings
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
- Perform administrative duties including answering phones, managing patient records, and coordinating appointment follow-ups
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding practices
- Experience working in outpatient clinics or hospital environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, Geriatrics clinics, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or medical-surgical units
- Proficiency with EHR systems and medical administrative support tasks such as intake processing and vital signs collection
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification and emergency response procedures confidently
- Familiarity with inpatient procedures, OR (Operating Room) support experience, or Level I trauma center protocols is highly desirable
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and internal medicine patients
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and emergency medicine protocols enhances clinical versatility
