Key Responsibilities:
Initiate and influence integration of EHS policies and practices into the business.
Process Safety Management (PSM) – Own site Hazops and PHR schedule
Ensure that appropriate processes are in place for timely completion of Hazard Studies and Management of Change
Security – Responsible for security of property and materials and alignment with DHS requirements
Key User of HSES Suite (Gensuite) for reporting and tracking Incidents, Near Misses, Hazards, BBS observations, Audits, MOC’s, Regulatory Reporting, and assigned actions associated with the aforementioned processes
Serve as a safety/compliance liaison with outside organizations
Lead and manage a variety of EHS requirements and compliance implementation which includes regulations, air permitting, wastewater permitting and treatment and hazardous waste.
Recommend process safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to chemicals.
Oversee the testing of air quality, noise, and temperature levels to verify compliance with health and safety regulations and perform or direct environmental monitoring as required by permits or Veolia; examine permits to ensure compliance with requirements.
Track and control inventory of safety supplies and equipment and work with the Operations Manager to keep adequate safety supplies on-hand.
Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
Work with consultants and contractors on related EHS issues; maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments, and third-party contractors to facilitate emergency response.
Investigate accidents, injuries, occupational diseases, near misses and environmental issues / misses to determine root causes and preventive measures. Follow up to make sure all corrective actions were taken and completed.
Report and review findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing
Plan and execute emergency and active shooter response drills
Modify and implement compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems; ensure effective EHS education programs are in place and conduct EHS education programs which include coordination of worker training in areas such as environmental and safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment.
Help develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) support Capital Project design and implementation by acting as EHS subject matter expert and supporting contractor management on site.
Conduct monthly EHS Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
Participate/lead the Plant Safety Committee

Core Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related field from an accredited college or university
7+ years of experience with exposure to several EHS areas in a chemical manufacturing environment
Good interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to influence others and affect positive cultural change
Other Useful Skills Experience
Advanced Degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field is helpful
Knowledge of OSHA Injury and Illness Recordkeeping procedures, OSHA Process Safety Management, and OSHA VPP is experience is a plus
Experience in using approved EPA sampling testing methods.
Site Security Programs
ISO 14001 experience (developing and maintaining programs)
Knowledge and experience developing SPCC / SWP3 Plans, TRI and Tier II reports
Certification in related subjects (CHMM, CSP, CIH, etc.)
Experience with SafeStart Program.
