LOCATION
This position will be located at our office in Amarillo, Texas.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Agribusiness, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in the administration and analysis of complex credit facilities for large agribusiness and commercial loans and leases.
Requires experience in structuring, evaluating and monitoring large complex loan, lease and credit servicing actions.
Requires high proficiency in oral and written communication.
Transactions include direct, as well as purchased, sold, and syndicated loans and leases.
JOB SUMMARY
The Commercial Senior Credit Officer I will assist Commercial and Capital Markets Relationship Managers, Special Assets Officers, and Administrators in performing advanced financial analysis of commercial agriculture and agribusiness credits.
This role involves assessing creditworthiness, conducting market research, and performing high-level credit analysis and structuring of the Association’s largest and most complex borrowers.
The Senior Credit Officer I will work independently and under minimal supervision, often as part of a deal team that guides credit actions through the entire process from initial discussions through underwriting, decision-making, closing, and servicing.
Processes and approves loans and leases in multiple territories within the limits of specific delegated authority consistent with Association policies.
Assists in training less-senior loan officers and credit officers to ensure quality service and attainment of the Association’s credit goals.
Has appreciable latitude for decision making as part of a deal team.
Builds strong relationships with client management/owners and other financial institutions and assists in the management of purchased and sold loan and lease participations.
An established credit professional operating with limited oversight.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides assistance to Commercial and Capital Markets Relationship Managers, Special Assets Officers and Loan Administrators in structuring, analysis, and servicing of the Association’s largest and most complex borrowers' loans and leases (direct, purchased participations, and sold participations).
Analyzes financial information including balance sheets, income statements and cash flows of potential borrowers and borrowers to ascertain credit worthiness. Determines appropriate Probability of Default {PD} rating for loans and leases.
Analyzes collateral and borrower primary and secondary repayment sources. Determines appropriate Loss Given Default {LGD} rating for loans and leases.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of key ratio analysis, and the relationship of those ratios on the various financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, etc).
Exercises sound credit judgment to develop unique financing and structuring solutions for a diverse customer base. Assists large-scale prospective and current borrowers with their credit needs and with formulating solutions to credit related issues.
Develops, manages, and monitors loan portfolios including commercial loan originations and capital markets loan participation packages.
Interprets, communicates, and provides guidance regarding association lending policies and procedures.
Reviews and approves loans and leases submitted by other lending staff that exceed their delegated authority.
Ensures compliance with Association policies and procedures.
