Position Overview

Housekeeper (S) – 1st Shift – Broughton Hospital. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, common areas, lobby, offices, bathrooms, and other assigned areas inside and outside the hospital building using appropriate disinfectants and cleaning equipment. The scope of work includes operating heavy cleaning equipment, performing medium to heavy physical tasks, and following written and verbal instructions. The position is part of a team and requires courteous, pleasant interaction with patients, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Clean ceilings, light fixtures, vents, and walls
  • Dust and polish furniture
  • Sweep, vacuum, dust mop, and wet mop areas
  • Sanitize hard surfaces
  • Buff and polish floors and shampoo carpets
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, replenishing paper supplies and soap as needed
  • Empty trash receptacles
  • Perform other duties requested by supervisors or management

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience required
  • Documented experience in large‑scale or industrial cleaning preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a psychiatric setting
  • Ability to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check
  • Completion of BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation
  • Availability to report or stay overnight during adverse weather events

Compensation

Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 – $48,810.00.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (1st Shift). This position also rotates weekends.
