The role involves leveraging project management expertise to oversee projects of varying sizes and complexity while fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse range of municipal, major capital building and infrastructure projects across the province
• Oversee projects of varying sizes and complexity, including large-scale developments for higher education institutions and civic facilities
• Drive the growth of the business in alignment with personal values and the needs of the communities served
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and ensure cost-effective delivery
• Influence key decision-makers and resolve challenges while maintaining focus on project objectives
• Provide leadership, inspiration, guidance, and management support to a team of practitioners

Skills

• Proven track record with 8+ years of project management experience, ideally within large-scale municipal infrastructure projects, demonstrating your ability to lead complex, high-impact initiatives
• Deep expertise in design, construction, and operations, with a strong understanding of how to navigate the challenges of institutional projects across sectors like education, civic, and infrastructure
• Strong financial acumen, with experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and ensuring cost-effective delivery
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an equivalent designation is highly valued, demonstrating your commitment to professional excellence
• Expert in client and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence key decision-makers and resolve a variety of challenges, whether commercial, technical, or interpersonal, while maintaining focus on project objectives and ensuring smooth coordination
• Educational background in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Business Administration, or a related field showcasing your strong foundation in project management, design, and construction principles
• Proven success in business development, with experience closing new deals, winning high-profile projects, and confidently leading client interviews
• A strong desire to grow the business presence in the local market and meet company growth targets
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in operations leadership and business unit growth, preferably in professional services
• A university degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management, or comparable degree (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
• Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including workforce composition and resource management strategies, risk management strategies, and commercial strategies
• A network of industry contacts and relationships within the region as well as involvement with applicable regional industry and trade associations
• Ability to provide leadership, inspiration, guidance, and management support to a team of practitioners, as they define their career goals, develop their skills, and serve our clients
• Ability to meet or exceed financial business objectives
• Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
• The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook, demonstrate an energetic disposition, and mentor teams to achieve business growth ambitions
• Demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building, and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities considered an asset
