Full-time Custodian (Kalihi-Dillingham) – Hawaiian Building Maintenance

The full-time Custodian position, based in Honolulu, involves a variety of cleaning tasks to keep both the indoor and outdoor areas of the warehouse. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain common areas:

Sweep, dust, mop, vacuum, operate floor scrubber, forklift, scissor lift, power wash and wipe down surfaces (counter top/tables, walls) and restrooms cleaning.

• Climb safely:

Use a ladder to access higher surfaces.

• Communicate effectively:

Understand and converse in English with the team and property manager.

• Ensure cleanliness:

Maintain the cleanliness of common areas within the building.

• Trash disposal:

Remove and dispose of trash in designated areas.

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Follow safety protocols:

Adhere to all safety procedures.

• Report issues:

Notify management of safety concerns or building problems, such as burnt light bulbs, etc.

• Maintenance reporting:

Report maintenance issues when necessary.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Background check clearance is required.
• High school diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions in English is necessary.
• Good public relations and communication skills are essential.
• Previous janitorial, custodian or related experience is preferred, and willing to train.
• Applicants must be capable of performing basic manual labor, including:

Cleaning common areas pressing, pushing, and pulling, frequently lifting and carrying a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs). Reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, walking, crawling, squatting, climbing, and stretching. Navigating stairs and using a ladder, as well as standing for the duration of their shifts.

Schedule

Monday to Friday 6am-2:30pm (40 hours per week)

Compensation

$17 per hour
