About the position

We’re hiring a skilled Wire EDM Machinist to set up, operate, and optimize CNC Wire EDM equipment producing high-precision tooling and components for metal packaging and high-volume manufacturing. This is a hands-on role for a detail-driven machinist who takes pride in tight tolerances, clean setups, and consistent, high-quality output. If you enjoy solving problems at the machine, working with precision blueprints, and keeping complex equipment running at peak performance—this role is for you.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC Wire EDM machines to produce precision components and tooling
  • Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing routings
  • Make program edits, offsets, and adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and optimize performance
  • Determine machining strategy based on print requirements and process flow
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring tools and CMM equipment
  • Troubleshoot machine, programming, setup, and tooling issues to minimize downtime
  • Manage wire, electrodes, and consumables to maintain efficient production
  • Run multiple EDM machines and support lights-out / unattended machining operations
  • Support scheduling for overnight and weekend unattended production
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, safety guidelines, and quality requirements
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to improve processes and reduce waste
  • Cross-train and support CNC Milling and Turning operations as needed

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of CNC Wire EDM or RAM EDM experience
  • Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Hands-on experience with controls such as Fanuc, Makino, Mitsubishi, or similar
  • Ability to edit CNC programs and document changes accurately
  • Experience with first article and in-process inspection
  • Proficient with precision measuring tools and CMM equipment
  • Familiarity with ISO quality systems and manufacturing best practices
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical training or apprenticeship preferred
  • Technical school, machining certification, or apprenticeship training.
  • Experience producing precision tooling, dies, molds, or metal forming components.
  • CMM inspection experience.
  • Experience operating CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
  • Manufacturing experience supporting metal packaging, consumer goods, or industrial production environments.
