The Quality Assurance Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor and test our ice cream products at various stages of production to ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety regulations, and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, train, and enforce quality standards, food safety, GMPs, HACCP, SOP, SSOP, Allergen Control, Organic and Kosher Program compliance through daily plant walk-through inspections and training sessions.
- Perform in-process and finished product inspections to verify compliance with specifications, GMPs and customer requirements.
- Conduct pre-operational inspection and operational sanitation inspections and document findings.
Monitor CCPs, QCPs and prerequisite programs.
- Verify label accuracy, lot coding, packaging integrity and allergen controls.
- Collect and submit samples for micro, sensory testing.
- Perform basin in house testing (temperature verification, metal detectors, weight checker, thermometer calibration, etc.)
- Support product Holds and dispositions per QA Manager guidance.
- Ensure quality and safe product by conducting raw material and in-process inspections, evaluating finished product, and preparing samples for third-party lab.
- Maintain quality assurance operations by implementing and auditing policies and procedures, participating in monthly internal mock audits, reporting non-conformances, conducting customer complaint investigations, product holds.
- Support management in other related duties, as required.
Job Requirements:
- Willing to work flexible schedule, may include weekends and holidays.
- Organized and accurate record keeping.
- Requires working in a non-temperature-controlled environment, handling of possible hazardous materials, and exposure to complex machinery.
- Ability to work in confined and refrigerated spaces, frozen, and wet environments.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years working in a GMP environment.
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation requirements in the food industry.
- Skills: Strong math and computer aptitude.
- Able to stand, walk, stoop and bend during the course of the shift.
- Good communication skills
- Bi-Lingual a plus.
