Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound and outbound calls to customers, providing a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.
- Handle direct in-person and phone-based customer interactions to answer and resolve a wide variety of inquiries about pharmacy services and delivery.
- Answer questions related to pharmacy services, delivery inquiries, refill requests, and general pharmacy assistance.
- Receive and process new pharmacy referrals, ensuring accurate and complete information is obtained.
- Verify insurance coverage for prescribed medications and related services.
- Facilitate prior authorization requests, coordinating with prescribers, payers, and patients as needed.
- Accurately transcribe prescriptions into the pharmacy system, ensuring correct medication, dosage, and directions.
- Generate reports that follow the cycle fill calendar to manage and track refill requests.
- Send and follow up on refill requests via e-scribe, facsimile, or phone to ensure timely medication access.
- Coordinate medication delivery logistics, serving as the first point of contact for service-related inquiries and associated needs.
- Support pharmacological services by editing and verifying fill lists, including insurance information, last fill dates, billing, and toting.
- Align (short fill) patient medications according to the cycle fill calendar to optimize adherence and convenience.
- Update patient information in the pharmacy system when necessary to maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate initiation of care with patients or caregivers, referral sources, and other providers of care.
- Enter patient information into the patient record accurately and completely, maintaining all records in accordance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
- Address and help resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Contribute to a team-oriented environment through effective communication, punctuality, organization, and collaboration.
- Manage time effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume pharmacy setting to meet daily workload and service expectations.
Essential Skills
- Valid Florida Pharmacy Technician License.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1+ years of experience in a medical insurance, billing, or customer service environment.
- Strong knowledge of medication brand names, generic equivalents, dosing, and day supply calculations.
- Proficiency with pharmacy operations including order entry, fulfillment, labeling, inventory management, and prior authorization processes.
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel and Access.
- Accurate and efficient data entry skills.
- Strong commitment and focus on delivering excellent customer service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment
This role is 100% onsite in a clinic pharmacy environment that is fast-paced and high volume. The team typically consists of six pharmacy technicians and three pharmacists, with three technicians and one PharmD working on Saturdays. The pharmacy processes approximately 1,500 prescriptions per week as a team, requiring strong focus, coordination, and efficiency. The standard shift schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., plus rotating Saturdays. The setting is professional and collaborative, with frequent interaction among technicians, pharmacists, and patients. The atmosphere is described as fun and professional, and lunch is often catered by representatives or vendors, providing regular free meals. Attire aligns with a professional clinical pharmacy environment, supporting a clean, organized, and patient-focused workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oakland Park, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
