Barista Shift Leader

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Barista Shift Leader to join our dynamic café team. This leadership role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards in food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have strong coffee and food service experience, excellent time management skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Shift Leader, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while managing the workflow during your shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily café operations during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent customer service.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, food items, and other menu offerings with attention to food safety and presentation standards.
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems, and perform basic retail math accurately.
• Train and support team members in food preparation, serving techniques, POS usage, and customer service best practices.
• Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and ensure cleanliness and safety protocols are followed throughout the café.
• Address customer inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive experience.
• Assist with opening or closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and store sanitation.
• Promote sales through suggestive selling techniques and product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Barista with strong knowledge of coffee preparation and food handling.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in food service or retail environments preferred.
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, serving protocols, and basic math for cash handling.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities.
