Veterinary Specialty Partners (VSP) is a privately owned specialty and urgent care hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while creating an environment where veterinary professionals can thrive. Founded in 2018 by board-certified internal medicine specialists Dr. Grace Clark and Dr. Scott Rizzo, VSP has grown into the largest internal medicine practice in Kentucky.
In 2024, we moved into a newly expanded, state-of-the-art facility and launched our Urgent Care service to better serve both our internal medicine patients and the surrounding community. Open seven days a week until 10:00 PM, our urgent care team provides timely treatment, stabilization, and compassionate support for pets when they need it most.

Position OverviewLicensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT/CVT/RVT)
Licensed technicians play a vital role in delivering advanced nursing care, supporting diagnostic procedures, administering treatments, and helping manage patient flow in a fast-paced specialty and urgent care environment. Technicians are trusted clinical leaders who demonstrate critical thinking, professionalism, and confidence during complex cases.
Veterinary Assistants
Veterinary Assistants provide essential support to our doctors and technicians by assisting with patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and hospital operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on patient care and want to continue developing their technical and clinical skills.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
- Obtain detailed patient histories and accurately document findings
- Administer medications and follow prescribed treatment plans
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Perform in-house diagnostic testing
- Calculate medication dosages accurately
- Monitor patient status and vital signs
- Prepare patients for procedures and surgeries
- Assist during surgical and medical procedures as needed
- Maintain sterile instruments and treatment areas
- Provide post-procedure and recovery care
- Educate clients regarding medications, treatment plans, and at-home care
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records
- Help ensure cleanliness and organization throughout the hospital
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of veterinary technician or assistant experience preferred
- LVT, CVT, or RVT credentials strongly preferred
- Veterinary students or individuals enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program are encouraged to apply
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills
- Knowledge of veterinary nursing procedures and patient monitoring
- Experience with catheter placement, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Understanding of aseptic technique and sterilization practices
- Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience using veterinary practice management software
- Commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and continuous learning
