Job Summary

Our store is small but mighty, the 8000 sq ft store has been embedded in the South East community for over 30 years. Because of the small footprint and intimacy of the community team members get to know our customers well as they depend on us for advice daily. The cashier position we are looking to fill is approximately 18-25 hours a week with opportunity for more hours depending on performance. The schedule we are looking to fill is: Saturday 7-6 and Sunday 9-5.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional service using excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions and cash handling
• Assist customers with product demos, upselling relevant items to enhance their shopping experience
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the store is clean and inviting
• Support inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and inventory checks
• Handle customer inquiries professionally, addressing concerns promptly and courteously
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations during weekend shifts

Requirements

• Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred
• Strong cashiering skills with proficiency in POS systems and basic math for transactions
• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette to engage effectively with customers
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a diverse clientele better
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for team collaboration
• Knowledge of retail math, upselling techniques, and merchandising standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work weekends consistently
