The Opportunity:
EPD is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler to join our Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for assembling switchboard frames, structures, and mechanical components according to engineering specifications while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

What You'll Do:
Mechanical Assembly & Production
- Assemble UL-891 switchboard frames, structures, and mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Install hardware, mounting systems, support structures, and mechanical assemblies.
- Verify assembly accuracy, dimensions, and alignment throughout the production process.
- Support production schedules through efficient completion of assigned work.
- Collaborate with Electrical Assemblers and other manufacturing personnel to ensure smooth production flow.
Quality & Compliance
- Perform inspections and quality checks throughout assembly operations.
- Ensure compliance with UL-891 standards and company quality requirements.
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and report quality concerns and opportunities for process improvement.
Safety & Operational Excellence
- Follow OSHA safety regulations and company safety procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in safe operating condition.
- Participate in 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Production Reporting
- Utilize Global Shop Solutions (GSS) and Microsoft Excel to record production metrics and labor information.
- Track assembly times, task completion, and quality performance.
- Communicate production progress and issues to supervisors.
What You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and work instructions.
- Experience using hand tools and assembly equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn ERP systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while supporting warehouse operations and inventory activities.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to lift bulky or awkwardly shaped items weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level or above shoulder height.
- Ability to safely perform team lifts for items exceeding individual lifting limits or involving ergonomic challenges such as uneven weight distribution or repetitive motion.
- Ability to work effectively in varying environmental conditions, including heat and cold exposure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with switchboard, electrical equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
- Familiarity with UL standards and quality systems.
- Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) or similar ERP systems.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
- Technical certificate in manufacturing or a related field.
