Position Overview
Title: RECRUITER / SR RECRUITER
Employee Type: Unclassified Staff, Department: Human Resource Management, Campus Location: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, Job Summary: The Recruiter/Sr Recruiter will support day‑to‑day functions and strategic vision of recruiting for unclassified staff at LSU Health, New Orleans.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for full‑cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, conducting interviews, negotiating salary terms, debriefing, extending offers, and assisting with completion of onboarding documents and requirements.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of staff positions and establish strategic partnerships with business managers and department leaders to design recruitment strategies.
- Work directly with hiring managers to qualify hiring needs, develop recruiting strategies, and provide leaders with consultative insight into the local market.
- Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers; prepare and post job ads to external career sites.
- Manage job postings across sites in conjunction with the applicant tracking system.
- Identify future talent needs and proactively recruit for open positions.
- Engage passive candidates and excite them about opportunities with LSUHSC‑NO.
- Determine applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and qualifications.
- Conduct professional phone interviews with industry/role‑specific probing questions.
- Guide candidates through the interview process to ensure an excellent candidate experience.
- Schedule interviews in coordination with candidates and hiring managers.
- Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during selection.
- Coordinate travel logistics for high‑level professionals, including flights, hotel, and relocation information.
- Work on special projects to further the objectives of the talent acquisition department, as directed by the HR Manager and HR Assistant Director.
- Travel to career fairs and universities to help recruit for LSUHSC‑NO when needed.
- Monitor and apply human resources recruiting best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Associate’s degree with an additional 2 years’ experience can substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
- Recruiter: 3 years of recruiting or related HR experience; Sr Recruiter: 5 years of recruiting or related HR experience.
- Additional 4 years of recruitment experience can substitute for a degree at the Recruiter level.
- Strong understanding of recruiting practices and the ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
