This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of tasks in the carpentry and painting trades.

Prepare a variety surfaces for painting by removing debris, rust, and corrosion.
Construct, alter, and repair wooden and wood substitute items and structures.
Interpret and apply building plans, specifications, blueprints, sketches, and other guides or codes.
Install, repair, and texture drywall.

Position requires a Secret Security Clearance.
Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL within 1 year of employment.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) : Ability to do the work of a Carpenter ~ without more than normal supervision. Must possess the ability to perform common tasks associated with the measuring and cutting of wood and wooden substitute materials to the appropriate length and dimensions to install a variety of objects ensuring that they are plumb and level; paint a variety of surfaces using a variety of applications such as stain, lacquer, enamel, etc. - Inside, is exposed to moderate or high noise levels from operating machinery, sawdust in the air, glue and paint fumes, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment. Performs truck-driving duties in all weather conditions. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
