MACHINE OPERATOR 3rd Shift - $2,000 HIRING BONUS
Pay Range: $24-28 based on experience. 3rd Shift Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM, OT scheduled as needed. Differential: $2/hour.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, sets up and operates standard milling machines, lathes, and other machine tools as directed in support of Elliott Equipment Company. Responsible for the manufacture of components and assemblies to tolerances as directed by drawings, internal sketches, or other forms of instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate and program numerically controlled lathes, drills, mills, and related equipment to fabricate parts.
- Perform precision machine work to create, assemble, disassemble, modify or repair machines, apparatus, mechanical devices and subassemblies. Make, fit and install parts.
- Operate all machine shop power tools including lathes, mills, drill press, punch press, saws, shears, plasma and brake, applying knowledge of machining properties of various metals.
- Use precision measurement and layout tools, including micrometers, calipers, rules, squares and compass, applying shop mathematics and formulae from handbook charts and tables.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches and diagrams.
- Understand programming/operation of CNC lathes, mills and Accer, including g‑code programming, AutoCAD.
- Build and/or modify equipment according to established specifications to meet specific project requirements.
- Repair and/or modify existing and new products in accordance with established specifications and procedures.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Continuously improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to deliver quality seamless customer service.
- Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Good math and measurement skills.
- Read and understand engineering drawings.
- Manage several projects simultaneously.
- Resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework or training in a directly related area with 3+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
