Job Title: CNC Operator / Machinist
Job Description
This role involves setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathes and mills in a machine shop environment to produce high-quality parts according to engineering specifications. You will use precision measuring instruments, interpret blueprints, and ensure parts meet strict quality standards while working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce parts according to specifications.
- Program CNC machines to perform required operations and ensure programs run efficiently.
- Adjust machine feed and speed settings to optimize performance, accuracy, and part quality.
- Deburr parts to remove sharp edges and ensure a clean, finished product.
- Change tooling as needed to support different operations and maintain production flow.
- Inspect parts using blueprints and engineering drawings to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm part accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting production and quality expectations.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CNC machinist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC lathes and mills.
- Ability to program CNC machines for various operations.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ownership of machinist tools necessary to perform daily tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with mechanical systems and CNC machinery.
- Availability for interviews on Mondays between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
- Previous experience in a machine shop environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Sparks, NV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
