Reports to: Facilities Manager
Location: Lake Forest, CA (onsite at company headquarters)
Employment type: Full-time
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $30-$36/hour
JOB PURPOSE
The Maintenance Mechanic Technician must have the skill and flexibility to work on any equipment within the facility and support all departments within the company.
When something breaks down on our floor, you're the one who gets it running again - fast, safely, and right the first time. We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic Technician who thrives under pressure, knows their way around a schematic as well as a wrench, and takes real pride in keeping industrial equipment in top shape.
This role leans heavily into electrical troubleshooting. if you can read a schematic, chase down a fault, and decide whether it's a fix-it-yourself job or a call-in-the-experts situation, we want to talk to you. You'll also handle basic plumbing, industrial wiring, light machining, welding, and HAZMAT tracking, so versatility matters here as much as expertise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Keep Equipment Running
Respond to maintenance calls with urgency, diagnosing and repairing production and facilities equipment, sometimes picking up where another tech left off.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues using task lists, schematics, and hands-on problem solving.
Inspect machinery regularly, building out short- and long-term repair plans to keep everything running correctly.
Oversee routine maintenance on pumps, lighting, compressors, ovens, and production equipment.
Ensure preventative maintenance procedures are in place, followed, and improved over time.
Build & Fix
Perform light machining operations (vertical mill, lathe) and welding/fabrication as needed.
Tackle basic plumbing and industrial wiring tasks across the facility.
Protect the Team
Learn and enforce company safety rules, helping assess and repair potential safety hazards before they become real problems.
Ensure HAZMAT materials are properly stored, handled, and disposed of.
Drive Improvement
Partner with Engineering and Quality to simplify processes and bring smart automation where it makes sense.
Help select and install new equipment.
Bring ideas from the floor to make the work environment better for everyone.
Lead & Support
Cross-train less experienced team members and jump in to help entry-level mechanics with tougher repairs.
Secure quotes from outside contractors and see jobs through to completion when outside help is needed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This isn't a predictable, clock-in-clock-out role; equipment doesn't break on a schedule. You'll need flexibility to respond to emergencies outside your regular shift and occasionally support facility projects on evenings or weekends, with overtime pay for all qualifying hours as required by law. In exchange, you'll have real ownership over how our equipment runs and a direct hand in keeping the whole operation moving
