Overview

We are currently hiring for multiple openings and are seeking experienced Veterinary Assistants and Technicians to join our team.

We’re especially interested in assistants and technicians with experience or interest in ICU, ER, and surgery, including critical care technicians who thrive in a high-acuity environment.

Certified assistants and Credentialed technicians are preferred, but experienced, non-credentialed technicians are absolutely encouraged to apply.

We’re looking for individuals with the right attitude, strong technical skills, and a desire to grow with a rapidly evolving hospital.

What You'll Do

This is a well-rounded, high-skill technician role with exposure to all areas of the hospital:

  • Assist in surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring
  • Perform dental procedures, including scaling and radiographs
  • Support ICU and hospitalized patient care
  • Take and process digital radiographs (x-rays)
  • Perform venipuncture, bloodwork, and lab diagnostics
  • Place and maintain IV catheters
  • Provide patient care, restraint, and treatment support

Communicate effectively with team members and clients

Duties

  • Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety and comfort for both animals and staff
  • Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians in performing surgeries, laboratory tests, and critical care procedures with proper aseptic techniques
  • Administer medications, IV insertions, catheterizations, and other treatments under supervision to promote optimal animal health
  • Handle pet care routines including feeding, grooming, and monitoring vital signs while maintaining detailed medical records
  • Manage front desk responsibilities such as scheduling appointments, answering client inquiries, and processing pet records efficiently
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites following PPE protocols to ensure a sterile environment
  • Assist with animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring animal behavior to support overall well-being

Experience

  • Prior kennel experience or animal handling background preferred; experience working with dogs, cats, equines or other small animals highly valued
  • Veterinary assistant or technician experience demonstrating familiarity with veterinary terminology and clinical procedures required
  • Hands-on veterinary critical care experience including medication administration, laboratory work, and aseptic techniques preferred
  • Knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy to assist effectively during examinations and surgeries
  • Strong skills in animal restraint techniques for safe handling of diverse species including dogs and horses
  • Experience with front desk operations within a veterinary clinic setting is a plus
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly to ensure safety during all procedures
