Prefabrication Manager – Process Piping, Sheet Metal & Plumbing - Commercial & Industrial Mechanical Construction - Seattle, WA
Gryphon Oakwood are currently partnered with a leading Mechanical Contractor who are seeking an experienced Prefabrication Manager to lead and develop their prefabrication operations in Seattle, WA. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all prefabrication activities across process piping, sheet metal, and plumbing systems, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical construction prefabrication, proven leadership experience, and a track record of driving productivity, quality, and operational excellence within a fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all day-to-day prefabrication operations across process piping, sheet metal, and plumbing fabrication.
- Manage fabrication schedules to support project delivery timelines and field installation requirements.
- Coordinate with project management, operations, engineering, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement fabrication processes, procedures, and best practices to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee workforce planning, staffing requirements, and employee development within the fabrication facility.
- Monitor fabrication quality standards and ensure compliance with company, client, and industry requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost control, and production performance.
- Manage fabrication budgets, material utilization, and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Track key performance metrics and provide regular reporting to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical construction prefabrication, fabrication management, or manufacturing leadership.
- Strong knowledge of process piping, plumbing, and sheet metal fabrication practices.
- Experience managing fabrication facilities supporting commercial and industrial construction projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing supervisors, shop personnel, and production teams.
- Strong understanding of construction workflows, scheduling, and project execution.
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or productivity initiatives is preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with fabrication software, production tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
