Physical Therapy Assistant - Certified

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and can identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs.

Assumes responsibilities of a Physical Therapy Assistant by providing direct patient care under the indirect supervision of a physical therapist from infancy through adults.

Works under general clinical direction of the Physical Therapist, but makes judgments regarding re-assessment of patients and development of appropriate patient treatment. Makes decisions as to when the Physical Therapists' advice or special attention is required.

Performs prescribed treatments of outpatients and inpatients as developed by a staff physical therapist.
