About the Role:
As a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, you'll demonstrate the value of Planet's data and services to help organizations across Latin America (LATAM) to overcome their earth data challenges. You'll also collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including Customer Success, Product Management, Professional Services and Business Development, to act as the voice of the customer to enhance Planet's industry offerings.
This is a full-time, remote position based in LATAM, preferably Colombia.
Impact You’ll Own:
Build and deliver presentations and product demonstrations highlighting technical capabilities of Planet’s platform and our ability to fulfill customers’ business needs.
Foster solid relationships with customer and partner technical and management teams, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor to their organizations.
Provide expert recommendations on solution proposals or system architectures tailored to address specific business challenges.
Assist with the response to tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and proposals with respect to product/solution information.
Work with your sales team colleagues to determine account development plans and execute a strategy to engage customers and prospects.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including Customer Success, Product Management, and Business Development to act as the voice of the customer.
Attain quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives assigned by management.
Be self-motivated to learn new technologies and industries.
Interface with all Pre-Sales Engineers globally, building a community to improve the team’s technical and sales skills.
Ability to present to key LATAM Civil Government and commercial stakeholders.
Act as a mentor to team members and lead training to drive their development.
What You Bring:
4+ years of experience in a customer-facing role supporting LATAM governments or commercial entities with remote sensing data solutions
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English
Ability to translate remote sensing and geospatial knowledge into innovative, solution-oriented ideas and demos that address customers' business needs
Expertise with QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, GDAL and other common geospatial software packages
Ability to successfully communicate and coordinate with international customers sales team
Excellent problem-solving skills and proactive working style
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
Ability to program with Python to process imagery, manipulate vector data, interact with APIs and build data pipelines
Ability to lead customer engagements
Ability to run workshops or training sessions with users
Ability to learn new technologies and industries
What Makes You Stand Out:
Experience with AI tools for coding and app development (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor or Github Copilot)
Experience writing technical proposals for LATAM government tenders
Experience working with Planet Insights Platform (PIP) or Planet APIs
Experience with sales methodologies (e.g. Challenger, Command of the Message, MEDPICC, etc.)
