What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

The Controlling Senior Specialist will serve as a key Finance Business Partner to multiple corporate-side departments within Scout Motors. This role is responsible for driving financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities for its assigned cost centers and be a key team member in the defining of internal financial processes, systems, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Business Partnering

Act as the primary finance partner to assigned departments, supporting operational and strategic decision-making.

Build strong relationships with Scout Management Board executives and their leadership teams to understand cost drivers, operational plans, and financial risks

Provide clear, data-driven insights to improve cost efficiency and budget adherence

Budgeting Forecasting

Lead the annual budgeting process for assigned cost centers, including target setting and alignment with corporate objectives

Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities

Partner with department heads to track performance against budget and forecast, proactively addressing variances

Month-End Close Financial Reporting

Own financial close activities for assigned cost centers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness

Review and validate transactions, accruals, and cost allocations

Analyze monthly results and provide variance analysis vs. budget and forecast

Prepare and present financial reports and insights to CFO and Finance leadership and business stakeholders

Transaction Oversight Controls

Support and monitor financial transactions to ensure alignment with budgets and company policies

Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial governance standards

Collaborate with Accounting to ensure proper treatment and classification of expenses

Process Improvement Systems

Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and transparency

Support implementation and optimization of financial planning and reporting tools

Contribute to building scalable finance processes in a high-growth environment

Location Travel Expectations :

This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC .

This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.

Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

Occasional business travel (mostly domestic, occasionally international) to other locations will be required.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

8+ years of experience in financial controlling, FP A, or related roles

Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial environment preferred
