  • $100,000/year W2 salary with weekly pay; health, dental, and vision benefits begin day one
  • On-site role at an Alpha campus located in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)

You are not here to teach. You are here to motivate.

The most impactful thing you can do for a six-year-old who reaches 99% of their target is to insist it's not finished. If that expectation unsettles you, this role isn't for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.

At Alpha, students in grades K-3 complete academics through AI-driven applications over two hours daily. As a Guide, you oversee one cohort band—either K-1 (Kindergarten through 1st grade) or 2-3 (2nd through 3rd grade)—and customize your approach, tempo, and workshops to fit that group. There are no lectures. No worksheets. You spend half your day facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops focused on topics like public speaking, concentration, and peer feedback. These workshops serve as frameworks, not rigid scripts—the most effective Guides modify them for their cohort and develop original content when needed. The remaining half of your day is spent in 1:1 sessions or small groups, analyzing Coachbot data, and guiding each student toward completing 100% of their weekly app objectives. With four- to six-year-olds, energy and playfulness aren't optional—they're essential tools for sustaining attention and enabling learning. Warmth creates the foundation for accountability. Accountability communicates that you believe they're capable.

A successful quarter means every student completes their weekly app targets, passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90%+ report that they love you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means the role hasn't been fulfilled. In your first year, you internalize the operational framework; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold expectations, you may advance to Lead Guide, where you mentor new hires while continuing direct work with students.

If you prefer traditional classroom teaching, need a pre-packaged curriculum, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position isn't the right fit. If you've thrived as an early-elementary teacher who excelled during circle time, a camp counselor for young children, a youth sports coach, a children's theater performer, or anyone who can command a room of kindergarteners through voice, play, and raw energy, the final step before an offer is a shadow day on campus where you coach actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for groups of 10-15 K-3 students covering public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange, and other foundational competencies
  • Conducting daily 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions to maintain momentum toward weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's reward structures (school currency, leaderboards), and the individual rapport you establish with each child
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery assessment) for every life skill, and continuing to coach students who don't pass on their first attempt until they achieve mastery
  • Engaging kindergarteners with songs, storytelling, physical activity, and humor, while simultaneously maintaining rigorous, trackable expectations for second and third graders
  • Serving as the warm, trusted adult children are excited to see at morning arrival AND the adult who won't allow them to settle for less than their best

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard lectures; academic content is delivered through the apps, not by you
  • Developing curriculum from the ground up; Alpha supplies the operational framework and you animate it
  • Passively monitoring kids on computers; motivation in this role is active, individualized, and persistent
  • Adjusting a weekly target downward so a child can meet it; when a student falls behind, the solution is to support the student, not lower the bar
  • Grading assignments, facilitating standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent communication, and the rest simply doesn't exist in this model
