What Impact You'll Have

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growth company and an expanding accounting team. What You'll be Owning

Reconcile daily banking activity, bank statements and account balances monthly

Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger

Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and preparation of supporting documentation

Responsible for general and inventory accounting

Generate financial reports and variance analysis. Ability to analyze financial data, reconcile accounts and identify trends or discrepancies

Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company accounting policies.

Support the corporate rate structure for government contractors

Identify opportunities for process improvements, control enhancements, and documentation standardization

Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as requested

What You Must Have

Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong knowledge of GAAP principles

Understanding of internal controls, including Sarbanes Oxley compliance

What Would be Nice to Have

Government contracting is a plus

CPA certification or in-process certification preferred but not required

Experience with Unanet and Deltek Costpoint is a plus

Virginia Pay Range

$80,000 $95,000 USD
