Auto Maintenance Tech I

Hourly base pay ranges from $24.09 to $36.11 per hour. Additional compensation may include commission or incentive programs.

Job Description

At Manheim, a Cox Automotive company, we are looking for an Auto Maintenance Tech I to perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles. You will work in a shop environment, gaining skill in light duty work as an intermediate-level auto technician.

Responsibilities

• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform routine maintenance duties: oil and filter change, fuel filter change, transmission flush, spark plug replacement, and vehicle inspections.
• Run battery tests, maintenance, and replacement; troubleshoot starting and charging electrical systems.
• Carry out repairs including tires, safety inspections, and interior/exterior components.
• Diagnose and repair brake, steering, and suspension systems.
• Perform evacuation and recharge of the AC system.
• Maintain equipment and use approved vendors to obtain parts.
• Fit new equipment on vehicles as required.
• Comply with procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.

Qualifications

• Required: 1 or more years of related work experience; ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles; a valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
