Job Title: Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO)
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Day Shift
Salary: $110K per year + Lodging
Start Date: September 1, 2026
Project Scope
- The SSHO will support a military construction project at Offutt Air Force Base, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, and all applicable safety regulations. The project includes:
- Interior construction: Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), drywall, painting, and finish work.
- Exterior construction: Finish grading, landscaping, concrete hardstands, and asphalt installation.
- Conduct daily safety inspections, enforce site safety policies, lead safety meetings, investigate incidents, and maintain required safety documentation.
Qualifications
- Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification (required)
- EM 385-1-1 certification/training (required)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (required)
- 24-Hour Fall Protection certification (required)
- Experience serving as an SSHO on military or federal construction projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, hazard identification, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work 40–60 hours per week in a fast-paced construction environment
