Haskett Works is a custom fabrication shop and design studio located in Seattle WA. We specialize in custom scenery and props for the entertainment and event industry, as well as retail pop ups, trade show booth manufacturing and commercial interiors.

We are currently looking to expand our list of qualified carpenters and scenic artists to work limited engagements when working on a larger volume of projects. If you have experience in set building, scenic painting, and/or metal work. If you have experience in any of these areas, enjoy working in a collaborative and artistically rewarding environment, then send us your resume and some pictures of your work! The ideal candidate will have 2+years experience in a related field and have extensive knowledge of the equipment and materials relevant to their specialty.

Requirements

Able to perform physical tasks including: carrying, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, hauling, and lifting as much as 100 pounds

Ability to use ladders safely

Maintain company and OSHA safety requirements

Must be reliable, customer-oriented and willing to be part of a team

Excellent problem solving skills, able to multitask

Team oriented

Quality conscious

Honest and reliable

Valid Driver’s License

Effective communication and maintaining professionalism at all times

Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary to deliver the project on time

The ideal candidate will have

2+ years experience in finish carpentry, production, and/or scenic art

Extensive knowledge of stationary and hand-held power tools including table saw, routers and typical rotary blade/bit tools

Extensive knowledge of basic building materials

Some experience with sketchup or equivalent drafting and design programs is a plus

Responsibilities include but not limited to

Assist in all production tasks including building, painting, staining, sanding and moving pieces

Working on projects as outlined by the project leads and adhering to production schedules

Assist on load-ins and tear-downs

Pay - Hourly DOE

Schedule: On call for busy periods - (will be considered first for any future full time positions)
