Role Description This is a part-time hybrid role for an Insurance Agent, based in Plano, TX, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Insurance Agent will identify prospective clients, conduct needs assessments, and recommend appropriate insurance products across personal and commercial lines. Daily responsibilities include explaining policy features, preparing quotes, processing applications, and ensuring accurate documentation in the agency’s systems. The role also involves responding to client inquiries, managing renewals, handling basic policy changes, and coordinating with carriers to resolve issues. The Insurance Agent will maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance offerings, compliance requirements, and market trends to provide informed guidance and build lasting client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Insurance Sales and Insurance Brokerage to effectively prospect, consult, and close business.
  • Candidates should possess strong knowledge of Insurance products and coverage options to confidently advise clients.
  • Candidates should possess foundational Finance skills to understand premiums, deductibles, and the financial impact of coverage choices.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to support clients, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Active state insurance license (or eligibility and willingness to obtain one promptly).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information in clear, accessible terms.
  • Comfort with using CRM or agency management software, and basic proficiency in standard office applications.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines.
  • Previous experience in insurance, financial services, or sales is preferred but not required.
