Roofers Local Union 22 Funds Office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Temporary Administrative Assistant to provide office support during a scheduled employee leave of absence. This temporary position will assist with daily administrative duties, member and pensioner communications, office organization, data entry, benefit-related support, and other operational tasks as needed.

This position is expected to run from approximately July 13, 2026 through October 21, 2026. The position may be extended or may lead to a permanent opportunity depending on operational needs.

Proficiency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable to assist our Spanish-speaking membership, but it is not required to apply.

Responsibilities

The Temporary Administrative Assistant may assist with the following duties:

  • Greeting visitors and answering phone calls.
  • Assisting members, retirees, and applicants with general benefit-related inquiries.
  • Sorting, scanning, filing, and distributing mail.
  • Updating member records, including address changes, new hire information, and related database updates.
  • Assisting with pensioner and member notifications.
  • Coordinating with signatory contractors as needed.
  • Helping process, organize, and maintain office paperwork.
  • Assisting with claims, billing, deposits, reports, and other administrative support tasks.
  • Supporting upcoming audits, open enrollment, administrative mailings, and general office operations.
  • Maintaining office supplies and helping ensure the office runs efficiently.
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred, preferably with a concentration in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Prior administrative office experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • QuickBooks experience preferred but not required.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
  • Notary license preferred but not required.

Ability to Commute/Relocate

Rochester, NY 14623: Must be able to reliably commute or relocate before starting work.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
