Position Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of IT equipment, including computers, servers, networking devices, office technology, and related products to customers, vendors, and company locations. This position ensures all deliveries and pickups are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and adherence to transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company trucks and delivery vehicles in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Transport IT equipment, electronics, and related materials to customer sites, warehouses, and vendor locations.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
  • Inspect vehicles before and after trips and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and shipping documentation.
  • Verify delivery contents against invoices, packing slips, and manifests.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with warehouse staff, project managers, and customers.
  • Assist with warehouse activities, including inventory management and equipment staging when not making deliveries.
  • Obtain customer signatures and proof of delivery documentation.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for sensitive and high-value electronic equipment.
  • Ensure company vehicles are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred depending on vehicle size and transportation requirements.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving or delivery experience.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Experience transporting electronics, technology equipment, or sensitive materials is preferred.
  • Ability to read maps, use GPS systems, and manage delivery routes efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills for electronic logs and delivery documentation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to load and unload equipment and move materials using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and standing.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering and installing IT equipment.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deliveries.
