Duties

  • Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
  • Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental x-ray and 3D scanner imaging, adhering to safety standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary to support comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control procedures and aseptic techniques aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
  • Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Facilitate four-handed dentistry by working seamlessly alongside the dentist to improve efficiency during procedures like oral surgery or endodontics.
  • Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care, ensuring they understand their treatment plans clearly.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is required.
  • Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy related to oral structures, and clinical procedures including dental instrument processing and sterilization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with dental x-ray techniques, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies, including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during various dental treatments while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members such as dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals involved in patient care.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
