Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Budget and Financial Systems Analyst, Business Affairs [R0152027]

ROLE of the POSITION

The Budget and Financial Systems Analyst provides analytical and technical expertise to support the management of UNLV’s budgeting and financial planning systems; conducts financial analyses and designs processes to optimize the use of systems and analytics and emerging AI tools; performs system administration duties and is a subject matter expert for Adaptive Planning and Workday. The analyst prepares, reviews, and analyzes annual and multi-year budgets for assigned divisions, colleges, or units, and performs analyses, such as trend and variance and modeling, to inform decision making. In partnership with academic and administrative leadership, the analyst provides strategic and operational support by aligning resource allocations, advising on budget planning and reconciliation practices, and identifying opportunities for process improvement, and ensuring compliance with institutional and NSHE policies.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field, from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and 1-3 years professional experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or systems administration, preferably in a higher education or public-sector environment. Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities include advanced knowledge of budgeting principles and financial modeling; expertise with Workday, Adaptive Planning or similar platforms; strong analytical, communication, and data visualization skills; proficiency with Excel, Workday and data analysis tools, and the ability to work independently under broad direction, exercising judgment and initiative in developing and implementing financial analysis and system solutions.

SALARY

The salary range is $64,187 to $71,143, or commensurate with the labor market.
