firstPRO is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to join a growing team.

This position is responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong payroll experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly payroll for employees accurately and on schedule
  • Review and audit timesheets, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and payroll adjustments
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data accuracy in payroll systems
  • Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Process new hires, terminations, wage changes, direct deposit updates, and other payroll transactions
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, W-2 preparation, and audits
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies as needed
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Accounting departments to ensure accurate employee and payroll records
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and payroll data
  • Support special projects and other administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with payroll software and HRIS systems
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
  • CPP certification is a plus but not required
