Job Summary

Diesel technician experience is strongly preferred and will receive priority consideration.

Covert CDJR Bee Cave is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our service team. In this role, your expertise in vehicle repair, maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting will help keep our customers safely on the road.

This position is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working with a wide range of vehicles, including Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and diesel models. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical knowledge, dealership or service center experience, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality repair standards.

As an Automotive Technician, you will perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns, complete advanced repairs, and ensure vehicles meet dealership and manufacturer standards for safety, performance, and reliability.

Duties

Diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment, schematics, technical manuals, and repair procedures

Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid services, and multi-point inspections

Conduct advanced repairs on engines, transmissions, diesel systems, powertrain components, suspension, steering, and braking systems

Troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to identify concerns accurately

Use hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and shop technology safely and efficiently

Perform wheel alignments and related steering or suspension repairs

Assist with ADAS calibration and advanced vehicle systems when needed

Repair or replace vehicle components as needed

Maintain detailed service records and document repairs clearly and accurately

Communicate repair findings and recommendations with service advisors

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Follow manufacturer and dealership repair standards

Experience

Previous automotive technician experience required

Diesel experience strongly preferred

Dealership experience preferred

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, or Mopar experience is a plus

Strong understanding of automotive repair procedures and diagnostic processes

Experience repairing engines, transmissions, diesel systems, electrical systems, suspension, steering, brakes, and powertrain components

Familiarity with ADAS calibration, schematics interpretation, and automotive electrical systems

Skilled in the use of diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and shop technology

Alignment, welding, or advanced repair experience is a plus

Knowledge of auto estimating software is a plus but not required

Strong mechanical knowledge with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Good communication skills and attention to detail

Customer service experience with the ability to explain technical issues clearly is a plus
