The Strategic Planning Scheduler plays a critical role in the long-range coordination, compliance, and optimization of crew resources across all scheduled operations under 14 CFR Parts 117 and 121. This position directly supports pilot qualification pipelines, resource utilization strategies, and systemwide staffing efficiency. As a key integrator across Crew Planning, Flight Operations, Inflight, Training, and Crew Services, the Strategic Planning Scheduler ensures regulatory adherence, maximizes operational readiness, and enables sustainable growth through proactive forecasting and planning
Here's what you'll do
Ensure full compliance with all FAR 117 and 121 regulations for Flight and Inflight crew members, including legality, duty/rest requirements, qualification timelines, and OE progress.
Strategically manage pilot qualification cycles, including Consolidation of Knowledge and Skills, high-minimums limitations, and takeoff/landing currency, ensuring deadlines are met without operational disruption.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure all work processes, data, and scheduling activities meet internal quality standards, CFR requirements, and readiness for FAA/IOSA evaluation.
Strategically schedule pilots and flight attendants upon completion of initial or recurrent training to ensure efficient deployment into active operations
Optimize and coordinate Operating Experience (OE) schedules for pilots and flight attendants
Schedule and manage pilot line checks in alignment with regulatory requirements and operational needs
Coordinate and schedule flight attendant observations and performance evaluations • Schedule Instructor checks and maintain qualification timelines
Build optimized crew schedules for pilots and flight attendants returning from leave to ensure smooth operational reintegration
Remove pilots and flight attendants from schedules when transitioning to long-term leave or separation, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
Strategically assign Airport Ready Reserve coverage for flight attendants to maintain operational readiness
Optimize pilot reserve coverage by repositioning reserves between bases to address operational needs
Optimize flight attendant reserve coverage by repositioning reserves between bases for coverage gaps
Monitor operational demand and proactively adjust reserve allocations to improve efficiency and reduce disruptions Training Qualification Scheduling
Schedule Onboard Charter Representative training to support operational readiness
Coordinate training-related scheduling to ensure compliance with qualification and currency requirements
Partner with Training and Operational Leadership to align scheduling with business needs
Arrange travel accommodation for all training events and out-of-base reserve assignments
Coordinate travel logistics for crew repositioning, training events, and operational requirements
Optimize travel decisions to balance cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness
Maintain accuracy and completeness of all data within the Crew Management System, ensuring real-time reliability for all departments.
Perform ongoing system maintenance and assist with process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, compliance, and operational predictability.
Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency and crew utilization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance scheduling processes and operational workflows
Support strategic workforce planning initiatives to improve operational performance
Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards
Here's what you'll need to be successful
Minimum Qualifications
1+ years of crew scheduling or crew operations experience in a Part 121 environment.
Demonstrated understanding of FAR 117 and 121 regulations, including 121.434 and qualification/consolidation requirements.
Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment with strong performance under pressure.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational discipline, and commitment to accuracy.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to work varied hours when necessary to support operational and training cycles.
Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
