Election Impact Team Lead - NC

Black to the Future Action Fund  is a 501(c)(4) that works to transform Black communities into constituencies that build independent, progressive Black political power in cities and states, enacting policy that improves the lives of Black people so that Black people have what all people deserve — dignity, safety, and power. This is a shared position with its sister organization,  Black Futures Lab , a 501(c)(3) that transforms Black communities into constituencies that wield independent political power at the municipal, state, and federal levels.

The problems Black communities face are complex, and the solutions require imagination, experimentation, and political power. Together, we combine strategies that help us imagine the alternatives we deserve with the organizing that builds the power to make them real.

The Voter Outreach Team Lead  leads a team of up to five Election Impact Organizers — social justice advocates who inform and mobilize voters through door-to-door canvassing, phone and text banking, social media, and community events. Our goal is to impact the 2026 General Election by engaging Black voters on the issues that matter most to them and energizing them to head to the polls. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Elections Campaigns.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and support a team of up to five Election Impact Organizers in daily voter outreach

Build relationships with community leaders through one-on-one and small-group meetings, sharing the team's purpose and goals

Canvass alongside your team — door-to-door outreach, phone and text banking, social media posts, and community events and meetings

Train and support volunteers

Enter voter data accurately into MiniVAN and complete accurate daily reports

Help your team meet its voter-contact goals each shift

Follow the provided script and share accurate information with residents

Stay informed about the political issues relevant to the campaign
