Capstone Development Partners is seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst to support its growing real estate development platform, with a focus on student housing and campus facilities development, construction projects, and property management.

This role is designed for a seasoned accounting professional with 4+ years of experience who is eager to take ownership of development accounting and financial planning within a high-impact, entrepreneurial organization — bringing strategic perspective to financial operations and driving cross-functional alignment across the business.

The Senior Accounting Analyst will work closely with the CFO and accounting, development, and construction teams to support project-level accounting, corporate budgeting and forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting across multiple entities and active developments. The Senior Accountant will report to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities

Project Development Accounting

Prepare and manage monthly construction draws

Collaborate with development and construction teams on project budgets and budget-to-actual (BTA) reporting

Track job costs, commitments, and development expenditures

Perform project-level loan tracking and compliance requirements

Perform accounting across pre-development, construction, and stabilized assets

Cash Management Treasury Support

Oversee corporate and project bank accounts

Review vendor payments, wires, and ACH transactions

Maintain daily/weekly cash tracking across entities and projects

Prepare monthly cash flow actual and forecast reporting

Budgeting Financial Analysis

Prepare and maintain corporate budgets and monthly forecasts

Work with management and team members to inform budgets and forecasts

Track variance analysis and evaluate performance and trends

Prepare internal and external reporting

Work with development teams to monitor project performance

Systems Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy

Assist with implementation of tools and systems (e.g., expense management, reporting tools)

Support ongoing process documentation and standardization

Collaboration

Partner with development, construction, and property management teams

Coordinate with internal accounting team members, third-party accountants, lenders, consultants, and project partners

Contribute to a team-oriented, accountable culture

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

4+ years of accounting experience

Experience with multifamily real estate, development, or construction accounting

Experience with budgeting and forecasting

Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity accounting

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas)

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Effective communication skills

Preferred

CPA license or working toward certification

Combination of public and private accounting experience

Experience with construction draws and job cost accounting

Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Entrada) and/or QuickBooks

Exposure to the development lifecycle (pre-development through stabilization)

Interest in improving systems and processes

Strong technology aptitude

Pay Range

$90,000 $110,000 USD
