Preschool Director / Infant–Toddler Teacher Full-Time | San Jose, CA 95124 (Cambrian Area) Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
A faith-based preschool in the Cambrian area of San Jose is seeking a passionate and experienced Preschool Director / Infant–Toddler Teacher to join our team in a dual-role capacity. This position combines center-wide leadership with hands-on teaching for our youngest learners (12–24 months) in a small, nurturing program.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Executive Director, you will provide day-to-day operational leadership for the center while directly supporting and teaching in our Infant–Toddler program. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who is equally gifted in leadership and in caring for very young children.
Key Responsibilities
Center Leadership
- Open and close the center daily (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
- Oversee daily staffing, child-to-teacher ratios, enrollment, and licensing compliance
- Supervise, coach, and evaluate teaching staff
- Serve as Director-in-Charge in the Executive Director's absence
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and faith-based environment
Infant–Toddler Program (12–24 months)
- Lead and teach within the Infant–Toddler classroom, stepping into ratio as needed
- Plan and implement play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Build strong partnerships with families through daily communication and regular conferences
Qualifications
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Minimum 36 ECE units, including 6 units in administration
- 2+ years of experience in an Assistant Director or equivalent leadership role
- Infant/Toddler teaching experience required
- Current Pediatric CPR/AED, First Aid, and Health & Safety certifications
- Site Supervisor or Program Director Permit (preferred)
- Must be an active, practicing Christian
