Location Avera McKennan Hospital Worker Type Regular Work Shift Rotating days/evenings/nights/weekends/holidays (United States of America) Pay Range $24.00 - $51.50 (Actual pay rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights For Flight RN Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience (RN) Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing. Active license in the state of practice upon hire. Registered Nurse (Single) - Minnesota Board of Nursing within 180 days. EMS - North Dakota Health and Human Services North Dakota EMS within 90 days. Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN) - Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) within 2 years. Driver's License - Licensing Board upon hire. 1-3 years critical care experience. This is a float Careflight Paramedic or Flight RN position. You will be working in our three bases located in Sioux Falls, SD, Aberdeen, SD and Pierre, SD. (Paramedic may be eligible for a $3,500 sign on bonus!!) (RN could be eligible for a $15,000 sign on bonus) Schedule 12 hour shifts: 7:00am-7:30pm and 7:00pm-7:30am; rotate every other weekend/holiday. You will know your schedule 6 weeks in advance. Your preferences will be taken in consideration for scheduling. A Brief Overview Provides emergency medical services, under the direction and supervision of the Emergency Department Physician and management for providing high quality patient care according to established standards of performance, the philosophy and objectives of Avera and the Careflight Program. What you will do Collect patient health data from patients, referring healthcare providers and patient charts. Analyze the collected data to assist in determining diagnoses and area of problem focus. Identify expected outcomes and goals individualized to the patient, and develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes during transport. Implement the interventions identified in the plan of care. Evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes, call medical director for orders or utilize protocols in place. Evaluate own practice in relation to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations. Complete peer evaluations when requested. Acquire and maintain current knowledge in practice, procedures and care. Collaborate with the patient, significant others and health care providers to provide appropriate patient care. Utilize research findings in practice if appropriate. Consider factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care in support of responsible, ethical and safe patient care and environments. All Careflight personnel are responsible for maintaining physical health and proper weight, not to exceed 240 pounds. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience (Paramedic) Certified Flight Paramedic (FP C) - International Board of Speciality Certification (IBSC) within 2 years. EMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Active license in the state of practice upon hire. EMT - South Dakota Board of Medical & Osteopathic Examiners (SDBMOE) upon hire. EMT - North Dakota Health and Human Services within 90 days. Driver's License - Licensing Board upon hire. 3 years of field experience in ALS ambulance, previous teaching experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in all EMS skills and familiar with various EMS training techniques.
