Position Summary
The Production Planning & Control Analyst is responsible for developing and executing production plans for press operations to ensure that customer demand is met on time. This role manages inventory levels through data-driven planning, , and collaborates cross-functionally to maintain efficient production flow and capacity utilization. This role integrates demand planning, supply planning, and execution through the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring schedule stability, high service levels, and alignment with operational and financial goals.
Essential Functions
Production Planning & Scheduling
Utilize ERP/MRP systems to develop and maintain production schedules in correct packaging aligned with customer demand
Coordinate schedule execution with cross-functional teams including production, purchasing, and logistics
Create capacity requirements and perform level loading based on production inputs
Adjust production plans proactively to mitigate risks and ensure on-time delivery
Capacity & Resource Management
Analyze capacity constraints and develop actionable solutions to support demand changes
Support production team in planning labor hours and machine capacity requirements
Identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements to maintain optimal throughput
Order & Inventory Management
Create and release production orders, including packaging instructions, based on ERP/MRP outputs
Establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels using historical data and forecasts
Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with safety stock and operational needs
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Develop and maintain key performance metrics
Provide regular reports and insights to support decision-making
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
Support or lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with world-class manufacturing practices
Identify opportunities to enhance planning accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) standards
Education
College degree in a manufacturing or supply chain related field or equivalent experience
Experience / Skills / Competencies
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment required
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of Production Scheduling (MPS), MRP logic, and capacity planning
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Solid organizational and time management abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
