About the position
The Pharmacy Technician's primary role is to dispense medical prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Additionally, the Pharmacy Technician performs administrative duties such as data entry, inventory management, and prescription billing. They must maintain a high degree of accuracy and adhere to all state and federal regulations related to pharmaceuticals. This is a part-time position with a 12-hour shift on Saturday only at the Marion County Jail.
Responsibilities
- Dispense medical prescriptions and perform administrative duties as directed by the Site Physician or Charge Nurse.
- Maintain inventory records, receive and store incoming supplies, and verify stock.
- Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare personnel as needed.
- Assist healthcare professionals within the scope of pharmacy technician certification.
- Adhere to infection control techniques and principles, while respecting patient dignity and confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician license/certification as required by state of employment.
- Current CPR Certification.
Nice-to-haves
- A minimum of one (1) year experience.
- Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
