Role and Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Delivery Driver with a valid CDL, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of products while providing exceptional customer service. Your duties also include supporting store operations through effective load management, safety inspections, and customer communication during deliveries.
- Deliver excellent customer service by engaging with customers throughout the delivery process.
- Identify customer needs and assist with locating, loading, and demonstrating products as required.
- Effectively communicate delivery details and inventory information to customers, coordinating with the truck driver when necessary.
- Plan delivery routes, prepare loading documents, and ensure accurate and punctual deliveries.
- Inspect products before loading to confirm quantities and accuracy against invoices.
- Ensure all shipments are securely loaded following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Update delivery status through company systems and tools.
- Unload, install, and test appliances as part of the delivery process when needed.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, keep the vehicle clean, and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, complete required DOT documentation, and maintain valid CDL certification.
- Report any security concerns and maintain organized, clean work and store environments.
- Operate store equipment as needed according to departmental responsibilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid Class A CDL for multi-unit commercial vehicle operation or Class B CDL with air brake endorsement for single-unit vehicles.
- Possession of a current medical certificate or the ability to obtain one upon hiring.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as per company policy.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Compliance with all relevant DOT and CDL regulations.
- Ability to obtain any necessary sales-related licenses or registrations as required by law.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of semi-truck driving experience or completion of a certified truck driving program.
- Six months of experience in home delivery or retail customer service roles.
- Three months of forklift or Moffett vehicle operation experience for loading and unloading.
