Job Description for Food Handler:

One of the responsibilities of the Food Handler is to support the manager in tasks such as food and meal preparation, handling cash receipts, and overseeing meal records. They also assist in generating daily reports and enforcing strict guidelines for food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety measures.

Responsibilities for Food Handler:

  • Produce excellent meals and baked items in alignment with a specified menu
  • Generate a report each day to validate processed transactions
  • Being aware of what constitutes a meal is important
  • Store food in a sanitary and correct manner to ensure its safety
  • Adhere to departmental rules and regulations by serving meals based on the designated meal schedules
  • It is important to employ and look after kitchen apparatus, notably knives, to facilitate effective and secure meal prepping
  • Promptly preparing an assortment of food items and beverages to cater to different preferences
  • Improve customer contentment and aesthetic charm through the use of garnishments
  • Assist in managing and overseeing the deep cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving devices
  • Abide by all regulations related to maintaining cleanliness, handling food properly, and storing it correctly to ensure safety
  • Regularly liaise with the supervisor to gain insights and create a well-prepared daily menu
  • Keep a check on the specified food temperature standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in your workspace and storage location
  • Ensure hygiene by scrubbing counters, polishing surfaces, and sanitizing steam tables and equipment
  • Comply with established procedures and criteria for sanitation to guarantee a stable and safe ambiance; responsibilities consist of sweeping, scrubbing, and handling dishwashing duties
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the garbage collection site and kitchen flooring

Qualifications for Food Handler:

  • Food Service Certificate as needed
  • Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
