Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized family-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art 21-bed unit. The position requires managing a wide range of medical and surgical conditions in a high-acuity environment, supporting a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 08/03/2026
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact RN license, at least 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in pediatric or neonatal intensive care, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support (BLS), EPIC electronic health record experience, successful passing of telemetry interpretation test (two attempts with an 80% or higher score), and experience with complex pediatric respiratory and cardiovascular procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric ICU experience, high acuity hospital background, and strong Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a Magnet-designated facility renowned for its expert pediatric care and healing environment. The unit cares for diverse patient diagnoses, including cardiac, respiratory, neuro/neurosurgical, and transplant cases. The nurse may need to float to NICU and general pediatric care units as required.
- Location: 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Parking permit required through UW Transportation.
