The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of vehicle body repair techniques, including metal straightening, panel replacement, and structural alignment. Proficiency in various welding and adhesive bonding methods is required. You will also be responsible for surface preparation, including sanding, filling, and priming, to ensure a flawless paint finish. Expertise in all aspects of automotive painting, including color matching, spraying techniques, and clear coat application, is crucial. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently to meet production deadlines. Responsibilities: Perform structural and cosmetic repairs to vehicle bodies. Conduct damage assessments and determine necessary repair procedures. Repair or replace damaged body panels, including fenders, doors, hoods, and bumpers. Perform frame straightening and alignment using specialized equipment. Weld and bond vehicle structures and panels according to manufacturer specifications. Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, filling, and priming. Mix and match automotive paints to achieve precise color matches. Apply primer, basecoat, and clearcoat using spray guns in a controlled environment. Buff, polish, and wax painted surfaces to achieve a high-gloss finish. Conduct quality checks throughout the repair and painting process. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and ensure proper care of tools and equipment. Adhere to all safety regulations and environmental policies. Collaborate with estimators and insurance adjusters to ensure accurate repair cost estimates. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Automotive Body and Paint Technician. Proven expertise in both structural repair and cosmetic finishing. Proficiency with frame straightening equipment, welding tools, and automotive paint systems. Strong knowledge of automotive materials and repair techniques. Excellent color matching and spray painting skills. Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and diagrams. Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Good communication and teamwork skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications (e.g., I-CAR) are a plus.
